LAVENDER MEDITATION GARDEN

"A Labyrinth differs from a maze in that the maze has many twists and turns and dead ends. A maze is essentially a left brain exercise. A Labyrinth has one way in and one way out. It is intended to calm the mind and Spirit using both the right and left brain ."

A wonderful meditation garden, full of the cleansing aroma from myriad beds of Lavender. We have moved from the old place and our labyrinth no longer exists- but please read this for information- and we WILL create another Labyrinth!! Our Lavender garden, a circle of raised beds, has metamorphosed into a peaceful labyrinth. Come walk in it and enjoy the calming effect of the Lavender and the peace of focusing on meditation.
We hope to have it available for those living with Cancer and other like life situations.
Many different faiths have used the universal symbol of the Labyrinth to help calm the mind and Spirit.
Yogic practitioners equate the 7 cycle labyrinth with the 7 chakras of the inner self and set a meditation for each round.
Wiccan's use it at times to call down energy.
In Medieval times many Christians who were unable to go on the Crusades created a labyrinth to help them contemplate the Life of Christ.
As you begin your pilgrimage on the first round you contemplate the birth of the Savior, and the vist of the Magi, then the flight into Eygpt with the teaching in the Temple-a symbol of what was to come.Second is the gathering of the Disciples and the Sermon on the mount with the wonders of the Miracles are contemplated.
The third to come is the last supper and the atonement in the Garden.
Fourth , the betrayal and Trial.
As you walk the fifth round , concentrate on Christ's walk to the hill of golgatha.
The Crucifixion is Sixth-shorter and yet drawing closer toward the center of the journey.
The Seventh and final round speaks of his resurrection and all the wonders that it brought to us.
Our Lavender Meditation Garden is a soothing place , with the wonderful spell of Lavender reaching out as you brush by.
